Also, there are three amendments on the ballot along with a Lake County School Taxl:

VOTE NO on Amendment 1 – Budget Stabilization Fund increase from 10% to 25% of general revenue collections. It is wrong for the government to take more than it needs to provide its functions.  Even Governor Desantis is against this amendment. We have enough surplus funds.  Besides that, have you ever seen a “rainy day fund” that politicians DIDN’t raid??

Vote YES on Amendment 2 – Exemption of tangible personal property on agricultural land from taxation. When a farm fails it becomes a subdivision.  Let’s support local farmers.

Vote YES on Amendment 3 – Increased homestead exemption; Lower cap on increases in non-homestead property assessments. Don’t believe the fearmongering.  Your yes vote only forces the Commissioners to return to roughly 2022 level spending.

Vote NO on Lake County School District Ad Valorem Tax for Teacher Pay and School Safety – This is to increase teacher pay, recruitment, and school safety yet the reason given for the need is due to lost funds due to school choice; which is lower enrollment and less need for new schools, teachers, etc.
