Our own Representative Taylor Yarkosky voted YES for this bill while it was in his committee. He maybe did not read the clause stating the homestead exemption would apply “only if the homestead property is insured by a comprehensive multiperil property insurance policy”. This is bad for those who cannot afford property insurance and they will lose tax exemption status!!! This sound like someone is in the pocket of property insurance lobbies.
